According to Rivals.com, tight end and lacrosse star, Will Yeatman has been suspended indefinitely from both teams. According to a couple sources, it was a DUI. Many believe the punishment will last for the lacrosse season and spring football practice. This would be devastating for Will due to the tight end position opening and the chance of being a starter. Don’t be surprised if Kyle Rudolph or Mike Ragone are starting for the Irish in the fall.
Hopefully an official announcement will be made within the next couple days.

Will Yeatman—the Notre Dame lacrosse standout and promising 6-foot-6, 265-pound tight end who was expected to succeed John Carlson in the starting lineup this fall on the football squad—appears to have some obstacles to overcome first.
Long-time Irish lacrosse coach Kevin Corrigan confirmed information provided by multiple sources over the last few days that Yeatman had been suspended from the lacrosse squad.
“All I’ll say right now is that we’ve suspended Will indefinitely,” said Corrigan Tuesday afternoon.
When asked if there was a possibility that Yeatman could be reinstated at some point during the spring season, Corrigan said, “I’m not going to say anything other than he is suspended indefinitely for violation of team policy.”
Later Tuesday afternoon, IrishIllustrated.com confirmed that Yeatman also had been suspended indefinitely from the football team, which begins spring practice next month. - Tim Prister of IrishIllustrated.com

It’s been awhile since we’ve had another addition to the class of 2008. Kapron Lewis-Moore, who had commmitted to Texas A&M, has changed his mind and will join the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Kapron is a 6′4″, 225 pound defensive end from Weatherford, Texas. He is a four star player on Rivals.com and a three on Scout.com and is a great pickup for Charlie Weis. It is said that he wanted to keep his decision quiet, but Tom Lemmings of the Sun Times made it public with his article yesterday.
With signing day in less than two days, we won’t have to wait long to find out if this is true or not. Let’s all hope it is because Kapron Lewis-Moore is an outstanding player and a much needed replacement for the loss of defensive lineman Omar Hunter. As always, Go Irish!

Former Georgia Tech Defensive Coordinator, Jon Tenuta, will be joining the Irish staff and should have a great impact on the Notre Dame defense. He will be replacing Bill Lewis who has decided to retire after three years with Notre Dame as Secondary coach. Lewis has been coaching since the 60s, mostly in the NCAA, but spent eight years with the Miami Dolphins. Thank you Bill for your time at the University of Notre Dame.
Now about Tenuta, the official announcement is most likely going to be made shortly after the 6th, which is Signing Day. Either way the announcement should be coming soon and made official. The addition of Jon Tenuta should have an immediate impact on the Irish defense and especially improve the blitz. He is truly one of the better defensive coaches in all of college football and will provide Corwin Brown with much needed assistance. Under Tenuta, Georgia Tech led the nation in sacks per game with 3.7 and Notre Dame was one of his many victims. When the Irish played GT on September 1st, the Notre Dame quarterbacks were sacked a total of 9 times for 69 yards while being held to only 3 points.
Jon will possibly be and Assistant/Defensive coach, so we could be expecting a lot more blitzes next season. I’m sure Tenuta will also be able to help Corwin with the entire defense as a whole and help make it much better. I’m very excited for the addition of Jon Tenuta and I feel that he will make a tremendous difference. Look out for the official announcement as we come even closer to Signing Day. As always, Go Irish!

Tight End John Carlson will not be participating in the annual Senior Bowl this week. He was forced to withdraw due to food poisoning which led to losing 17 pounds in only eight days. After a tough season, I’m sure John was looking to showcase his talents throughout the week. However, Carlson will have many, many more chances to prove to the NFL scouts that he should be an early pick in the draft. Many would criticize John Carlson for returning for a fifth year after the stellar 2006 season, but either way, his skills are still present Let’s all hope that John will get better soon and I’m sure he will prove himself later on in other events such as the combine.
Tom Zbikowski, Trevor Laws, and John Sullivan will be representing the Irish on the North squad at the Senior Bowl.

According to the Associated Press, nose tackle Pat Kuntz is not enrolled this semester. It’s uncertain whether or not Kuntz will be back in time for football in the fall.
“The 6-foot-3, 285-pound junior, speaking from his home in Indianapolis, would not elaborate further on why he was not at school. Because of privacy laws, the university could not comment on Kuntz’s status other than to say he is not enrolled, said Brian Hardin, director of football media relations.
Kuntz said he plans to return to Notre Dame, possibly as early as this summer, and hopes to play for the Irish this fall.
“No matter what I’m going to be back there. I’m going to have one more year to play and I’m going to graduate from Notre Dame,” said Kuntz, who is majoring in sociology. “The time is the only thing that’s not 100 percent.”
Kuntz hopes to know in the next month whether he will be back in school in time to play next fall.”
This could be a crucial loss for Notre Dame, considering the depth of their defensive line. Pat Kuntz was expected to start at either the Nose Tackle position or possibly Defensive End this upcoming season. My wishes go to Pat in overcoming this current setback.

Notre Dame added another wide receiver to the class with the commitment of Deion Walker. The six-foot-four receiver gave the Irish the number one class again after falling behind Georgia for a very, very short time.

Will Notre Dame end up with the number one recruiting class?

Defensive tackle, Omar Hunter, from Budford, Georgia has chosen to attend a school closer to home and no longer wishes to go to the University of Notre Dame. He is now considering three schools; USC, Florida, and Auburn. I anticipate that he will decide to attend Florida, considering the distance USC is from his home, although, Auburn is still a possibility. Hunter is a key loss to the number one Irish recruiting class, but it should stay there as long as all other commits stick with Notre Dame. With the All American game coming up on the 5th, we can hope for some other players to fill in for this loss.

Trevor Robinson of Nebraska committed to the University of Notre Dame on Thursday night. The 6′6″ Offensive Guard had been committed to Nebraska but changed his mind and went with Charlie Weis and the Irish. Notre Dame now has 22 Commits from the 2008 class, and still looking for a couple more.

Notre Dame 21
Stanford 14
Notre Dame closed up their season with a win over Stanford on Saturday. The score should’ve have been much higher, considering all of the reversed calls, especially David Grimes’ great touchdown catch. The ball did not hit the ground. I will post an article about the overall season later on this week.
